How long have you worked in libraries?

Almost 23 years 

 

What is your favorite book from childhood?

Too many to think of and name here. Bread and Jam for Frances is one I have fond memories of and can still hear in my head.

 

What is your favorite genre, series, or book?

These days, I go for a great mystery or thriller. 

 

Where is your favorite spot to read?

Sitting at the Grand Bassin Rond in Paris. I read A Moveable Feast there. At home, it’s in any comfy piece of furniture with a blanket. 

 

Have you ever read a book in one sitting? If so, what was the book?

Yes, it was Fahrenheit 451. It had been required summer reading in HS and I waited until the night before school started to read it.

What tips do you have for someone who might be in a reading slump or trying to get back into reading?

Consider read-alikes for some of your favorite movies and tv shows.

 

Do you have any tricks for someone who might want to incorporate reading into their daily routine, but is struggling to do so?

Consider when you are most awake during your free time. I know if I try and read during lunch, I’m going to want to take a nap, but I have more focus and energy before dinner.
